This time, Carter comes up with a cunning plan for how he and Steffy can emerge from their tryst unscathed.
A Web of Lies
Steffy desperately wants to tell Finn about the infidelity and the pregnancy, but Carter has other ideas. He has the perfect solution: Steffy must become an egg donor and a surrogate for him and Daphne.Daphne has mentioned that she wouldn’t want an anonymous egg donor. Carter suggests that Steffy go to Daphne and offer to act as a surrogate.
Steffy doesn’t want to do it. There is no way she could ever give up her baby. Steffy is completely devastated by Carter’s audacious proposal.
At first, Daphne is not keen on the idea when Carter suggests that Steffy could be their surrogate. Daphne couldn’t possibly ask such a thing of her good friend Steffy.
Carter approaches Steffy again to pressure her. When Daphne arrives, Carter claims that Steffy has already agreed.
When Steffy tells Finn about the surrogacy idea, Finn is firmly against it.
Carter continues to pressure Steffy and eventually lies to Daphne, claiming that Steffy has already undergone artificial insemination. Although Daphne is a bit surprised that the procedure was carried out without her being told, she is nonetheless deeply grateful to her friend for this selfless act.
